As a participant of WUP you may need a visa for your stay in Germany.
Please read the following information and start your visa process as early as possible. It may take up to 6 weeks for the German Embassy to issue a visa for you.
EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany.
Generally speaking, all other foreigners require a visa for stays in Germany.
As an exemption from this rule, a visa is not required for semi-annual visits of up to 90 days for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement. You will find an overview on visa requirements here.

In case you do need a visa, your visa application will require a “Letter of invitation” from Hochschule Darmstadt. We will send you a “Letter of invitation” as soon as you have applied and paid the registration fee. You can find more information on the application process here.
WUP is not responsible for any costs arising out of the application or the denial of a visa.
Participation in International Winter University Programme does not require a student visa and is not sufficient to request a student visa for the Federal Republic of Germany. WUP is hosted by Hochschule Darmstadt, but participants in the WUP will not be enrolled as regular students of Hochschule Darmstadt.
