International Winter University Program in Germany

Spend three unforgettable winter weeks in Germany and experience academic life at Hochschule Darmstadt. The Hessen International Winter University (Hessen:IWU), or also called Winter University Program (WUP), combines English taught courses, cultural experiences and international exchange in one of Germany’s most student friendly regions and takes place from Dece,ber 27, 2026 - January 16, 2027. 

Students from around the world come together in Darmstadt to earn academic credits, explore German culture and travel across Europe during the winter break.

Participants can choose between two interdisciplinary courses taught entirely in English:

• Social Media Marketing and Sales explores digital communication, branding strategies and online customer engagement in international markets.
• Energy Lifestyles - A Technical Comparison Between Nations focuses on sustainability, energy systems and global challenges connected to the future of technology and society.

Alongside the academic program, students take part in a German language course, social activities and excursions to some of Germany’s most famous destinations, including Munich and Neuschwanstein Castle.
