Participants can earn up to 9 university credits under the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), 6 ECTS for the seminar modules, 3 ECTS for the German language course.

  • accommodation for the duration of the program
  • an academic module (including seminar materials)
  • a German language course (including seminar materials)
  • company visits and field trips
  • cultural and leisure time activities
  • a ticket for public transportation within the city of Darmstadt
  • a health, accident, and liability insurance

Hochschule Darmstadt has subscribed to the “National Code of Conduct for German Universities Regarding International Students” of the German Rector`s Conference and has committed itself to its fulfillment. You can find information on the HRK Code of Conduct here.

All participants are expected to actively participate in all official WUP/Hessen:IWU events and contribute to a cooperative and tolerant atmosphere in and outside of the classroom. In case of misbehavior, the program coordinator reserves themselves the right to dismiss a participant from the program. Misbehavior constitutes e.g. physical attacks and verbal insults on other participants, staff, or other third persons, drug abuse, excessive alcohol abuse, destruction of the property of Hochschule Darmstadt. The dismissal of a participant from the course is solely at the discretion of the program coordinator. Should a person be dismissed from the program, no fees will be refunded to him / her.

WiFi is available both on campus and at the hotel.

You should check if your electrical devices are suitable to the German standard (220 Volt). If you need an adapter or transformer you should buy it before you come to Germany.

Not all stores/restaurants accept credits cards. It is recommended to always carry some cash with you. You can get cash with your credit card at an ATM machine here in Germany. Please make sure bevor your arrival that your credit card is approved to withdraw money from a German ATM machine.

For a small fee, the washing machines and dryers at the hotel can be used.

The hotel has a small gym that can be used by all participants free of charge.

All participants have health insurance through a third-party provider. The cost for that is covered by the program fee. If you feel unwell, get in touch with the program staff so that they can make a doctor’s appointment for you. Please also provide an emergency address for us in your registration form, so that we can inform your family if needed.

If you have any physical impairments, nutritional or other dietary restrictions, please let us know well in advance (at least 2 months prior to the starting date) so that we can try to accommodate you.

Yes, of course, you may wish to arrive early in Darmstadt. However, we cannot provide you with accommodation for any days outside the official program period. Also, we cannot offer an Airport Welcome Service on any day that is not the official arrival day. If you arrive early in Darmstadt, you are solely responsible to find your way to Darmstadt and your own accommodation.

The registration deadline is October 20, 2024. If the maximal amount of participants is reached before, we cannot accept any more applications even before the deadline.
